The Bianchini Ferier archive A century of success for Bianchini-Ferier was begun with the winning of the Silver Medal at the Exposition Universal in 1889 and led to the opening of offices in Paris, London, Brussels, and finally in New York in 1909. In 1912 Bianchini signed a contract with Raul Dufy, the brilliant designer for couturier Paul Poiret. The exhibition Poiret: King of Fashion, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2007, introduced many New Yorkers and visitors to the significant creations of Poiret in concert with Bianchini. From the early 1960s Bianchini-Ferier created superb designs for Givenchy, Balenciaga, Chanel, Dior, Feraud, Laroche, Nina Ricci, YSL, and Scherer.
